Poker Hand Values

June 16th, 2008 by admin

Poker Hand Rankings are in most cases concerned with the value of the ranks where Ace holds the highest ranking followed by the faces ranking highest to lowest in the order of King, Queen, and Jack and then comes 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2.  The value of the numbers, faces and Aces are considered with respect to the suits for poker hand rankings in some games.  Therefore, the poker hand rankings are made based on the suits and also by giving a special reference to the individual card ranks for that particular card. Sometimes the suits ranking method is ignored and only the rank of the individual cards are taken in to consideration.

Understanding poker hand rankings is important because in many games the person who will have to make the first bet or bring in is selected on the basis of hand ranks.  And also in many cases, the betting initiation in each round is done based on poker hand rankings.  And, of course, every winning in poker in the showdown is decided by the poker hand rankings. When there is going to be a tie between hands, in some cases the suits are considered to break the tie.
